On Friday May 23 2008, a dedicated group of Cedar Cliff H.S. J.R.O.T.C cadets and
students placed over 500 flags at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in New Cumberland in
remembrance of Memorial Day. These fine young men and women are our future
leaders and I want to thank them and wish them luck on their journey whether it is in the
Service, College or Work. Our future looks bright with this generation of patriots. And
thank you Sgt. Benton and Col. Hancock for your leadership of J.R.O.T.C.
Among our fallen comrades in Mt. Olivet are Wm. H. Nauss, our Post 143 name sake
and two Medal of Honor recipients, the highest military honor bestowed by Congress.
We all should be proud and thankful to these gentlemen.
Thank you and God bless all who paid the ultimate sacrifice
