Post 143 10th Anniversary Weekend at 214 Market St.
May 2, 2008 marked the tenth anniversary of the dedication of our building at 214 Matket
St. What a weekend is was!! Friday night started things off with dinner specials and
DJ/Dance with special guests in attendance including the State Commander, Bob Miller
and District 19 Commander, Donald Painter. All monies raised was donated to the West
Shore Senior Citizens Center. Saturday we held a chicken barbeque and bake sale in the
afternoon, followed by Kentucky Derby specials and hat contest and ending with a Sock
Hop featuring the band "Remember When". Through tremendous raffle sales we donated
$ 1,700 to the Bridges Food Distibution of New Cumberland. The Honorable Mayor DJ
Landis and family joined us for the evening festivities and a blast was had by all. On
Sunday we held an auction (special thanks to all the members who donated items) and
raised  $ 900 for use toward our Post 143 family picnic this summer(details to follow)
Sunday ended with the best damned free buffet ever!!
